An inspirational member of Fulham Deaf FC, Ben plays Futsal with Doncaster Deaf FC and was part of the team that faced their first ever UEFA Futsal Championship in Andorra this year.
Daniel is no stranger to the game of Futsal. He played in the last European Futsal Championship with Great Britain in Bulgaria, back in 2002. He was recently selected in the Great Britain University Team for the World University Championships.
Another experienced playing member of Doncaster Deaf FC, John was selected into Graeme Dell's England Futsal F30 squad earlier this year. John studies HND in Sports and Exercise at Doncaster College for Deaf, whilst playing for Doncaster Deaf FC. He is the team captain.
Oliver (Ollie) Monksfield
Oliver was part of the Great Britain set up in Bulgaria in 2002. Oliver joined Romford FC this summer, and competes in the Essex Senior League. Oliver is a qualified Level 2 Football coach, and works with Tottenham FC, coaching both deaf and hearing children, where he is also working towards his UEFA 'B' Badge.
Taljinder (Bobby) Singh
Taljinder has returned to the sport after a horrific nightmare injury which saw him being sidelined since early 2005, after tearing his knee ligament in the Final match of Deaflympics, where Great Britain won the Gold against Iran. This is Taljinder's first international cap with England.
Sam will be playing in goal for the team, and he admitted he was “astounded†upon hearing being selected for England. He is another member of Doncaster Deaf FC in Futsal terms, but he recently joined Derby Deaf FC in the 11 a side game.
Daniel (Ginger Wizard) Holdsworth
Daniel has emerged as a new talent within the England set up, where he has come through the ranks at Doncaster Deaf FC. A natural striker, this will be Daniel's first major experience in Europe, and he has “never felt prouder to wear the Three Lions badgeâ€.
Alistair (Ali) Daziel
Alistair is looking forward to bettering his performance from the last European Championship in Bulgaria where he finished the Championship as the runner- up to the Golden Boot.
Peter (Woody) Wood
Peter is the eldest playing member of the squad. Peter played for Sheffield Deaf FC, before going on to play for Doncaster Deaf FC, where he has now been at the club for six years.
Having spent his early life playing football in Northampton, Chris now plays for Doncaster Deaf FC. He too was part of the Doncaster team which won the National UEFA Championship in 2005 in Sheffield and recently competed for the club in the UEFA Championship in Andorra.
Jason has been a playing member of Doncaster Deaf FC for four years and been involved with many trips abroad with Doncaster. He feels the European Team attitude of the game makes England “hungrier and stronger†to win the European Championship.
Rowan is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead in Moscow. In his spare time Rowan coaches the Doncaster Deaf FC Ladies.
