FDFC v ESS Vitry Paris

DCL Antalya, Turkey 2015  (on 22/04/2015 – Report by Jason Mycroft)

Fulham and E.S.S Vitry Paris played out a scoreless draw to kick off the European Deaf Champions League. In scenes almost identical to last year’s affair in Serbia, Fulham were largely the dominant team and will be left wondering what could have been.

The first half opened with plenty of opportunities, Daniel Waller coming the closest with an acrobatic scissor kick that bounced just over the crossbar. Willis, Mycroft, Gregory and Swift all having great opportunities to break the deadlock.

After a pleasing effort from the first half, Fulham maintained their steady performance and continued to apply pressure on Paris. It would hard to say which opportunity was the closest as Gregory and Willis had fantastic chances.

Gregory’s first opportunity came when Mycroft drove a cross between the keeper and the defense, unfortunately Gregory was unable to get a clean connection to steer the ball into the net. Gregory and Willis both had headers go wide after excellent cross from Swift and Mycroft respectively

Defensively there was not much to talk about as Paris only had just the one great opportunity which rattled the crossbar. Fulham will be confident about their chances going forward in the next game.
