Fulham DFC 3-0 C.S.S.M. Paris (on 24/04/2015 – Report by Jason Mycroft)

It was business as usual as Fulham DFC shook off the disappointment of being eliminated via penalties, to deliver a 3-0 victory against C.S.S.M Paris, courtesy of a Jacob Willis hat trick.

Fulham will be left wondering what could have been after convincingly seeing off the threat posed by some of the C.S.S.M Paris’ more skilful players.

Fulham asserted their dominance throughout the first half and were unlucky not to be several goals up, as Gregory, Wylde and Willis all found themselves in great opportunities, with the latter being booked for kicking the ball away after being flagged for offside.

Fulham may have been the more dominant team but they weren’t as fluid and free flowing as they’ve usually been –something that notably improved in the second half- Goal scoring chances came easily for Fulham and Willis opened the scoring, following a chipped ball over the defender, he found himself one on one with the goalkeeper and with the outside of his right foot gave Fulham the lead.

His second goal was almost as simple as Philip Swift played a through ball which Willis picked up, rounded the keeper and scored his second. Another through ball from Wylde saw Willis complete his hat trick when a left foot finish had the keeper rooted to the spot.

As in the first half, the second half had great opportunities for Willis to increase his goal count, including a chip shot which bounced off of the crossbar.

The result of yet another defensively solid performance and hard work came another clean sheet. With one more match to go, Fulham will be looking to finish on a high to grab the 5th place.
