Congratulations to the reserves for notching up their
first league win in the season. This no doubt shows that the young
squad is
improving and developing as a unit, this has been evidence for a while
in training though this took a while to translate to results. The
reserves have two games left in the league and face relegation.

1st Team

The 1st team are now in a critical stage of the season, still in contention for the British Deaf Cup, TECK Intermediate Cup and Intermediate League Cup as well as fighting to put themselves in a position for promotion back into Division One of the Kingston & District Football League. With Esher United dropping three points last weekend, promotion is now back in our hands. Due to the numerous postponements and success in all cup competitions, we are faced with the possibility of playing all 7 of our league games on midweek dates, if we progress in the three cups we are still competing for. The fight for promotion is likely to go to the wire and the next 2 months are crucial for the team.

FDFC AGM & Presentation Night

This year we will be holding the AGM and Presentation nights on separate dates for the first time, as the Presentation night with be combined with Fulham DFC Youth. Details on the dates and venues of the AGM and Presentation nights will be posted here once all is confirmed. Only FDFC members and family will be invited to both events.

European Championships

Ben Lampert, Greg Beedie and myself have all been selected for the GB Squad for Portugal along with Ayad Sarraf as Assistant Manager and Mark Gill who will take care of PR/Media Duties and support the management team. Mark Saunderson and Lorraine have also been selected as Coach and Physio respectively.

Disappointingly I have had to pull out of the squad as my troublesome knee is not quite ready for the championships, though I must say it is a proud day for Fulham as the GB squad is again relying on Fulham DFC to support the squad by taking 3 players and also 4 officials, bringing the total to 7. This is a huge credit to the club, showing recognition of the quality of our backroom team and members.

Ben, Greg and Ayad will be looking to raise money over the next few months to help fund Great Britain to go to the European Championships, so do be prepared to dig into your pockets for them, or even better help them raise money the Ben Stubbs way, climbing not one, not two but THREE mountains in aid of the GB Squad.

Fulham DFC Supports The NDCS Deaf Friendly Football Project

The National Deaf Children's Society back in October launched the Deaf Friendly Football Project. The aim of the project is to make football more accessible to deaf children.

The NDCS Deaf Friendly Football Project will enable every deaf child in England access to the nation's great game over the course of the next three years. It is being funded with the help of a 211,608 grant from the UK's largest sports charity, the Football Foundation, and with additional funding from Phonak UK and Sportsmatch.

We at Fulham DFC support this muchneeded project, as there is a huge lack of football opportunities for deaf children all over the country. And the Deaf Friendly Football Project will go some way towards reversing this and hopefully starting a new trend across clubs all over the country.
