Fulham Seal 3rd Spot & News Update
The whites finished the season with a 2–2 draw against division 3 bound Southfields FC. Fulham took to the last game of the season against Southfields knowing that a win or draw would be enough to seal third spot in the league, above SHFC London who finished the season on equal points though behind on goal difference.
Alex Bovino opened the scoring after 17 seconds, after Southfields squandered the ball from kick off, and were punished in a swift move of passes with Ben Lampert crossing the ball low from the wing to Bovino who calmly slotted home. Shyloh added to his record breaking goal tally, though it was enough as Southfields found their way past twice and did enough to stop us from ending the season on a win.
The whites fate for next season will be learnt shortly, Fulham can only hope that third spot is also in contention for promotion and chances can only be improved if teams from above withdraw or move on to other leagues. At the end of the day if this is not the outcome then the club has only itself to blame for not getting the results and shooting itself in the foot one too many times this season.
Over the next few weeks the FDFC Management team will be reviewing the season and look to ring in changes, after what has been a very disappointing season, which has seen us fail to seal automatic promotion, fail to defend the British Deaf Cup for the second time, fail to reach the British Deaf Cup Final for the first time since the club was founded in 2003.
The only positives we can take from the season were the winning of the TECK Cup against Surrey Fire, and reaching the 4th round of the Surrey FA Cup and losing to the eventual Surrey FA Cup Champions Molesey Villa F.C.
