Fulham defeated Dynamo Pimlico 6-0 to seal promotion to the Kingston & District League Premier Division for the first time in the clubs history. Yesterday’s win ensured the whites finished the season in the league unbeaten, playing eighteen, winning thirteen and drawing five, scoring 71 goals and conceding just seventeen.

While the whites currently sit on top of the league, the title is not in their hands as Wandsworth Town have two games to play, winning them both will see them take the title. Wandsworth play SHFC London and Claygate Royal’s who are both in contention for promotion at Wandsworth Town’s expense.

SHFC and Claygate look to be in great form firing on all cylinders, notching up huge wins in recent weekends, so it is far from being a formality for Wandsworth Town who have lots to do. The whites can only wait and watch the three teams slug it out, before learning if they’ve have won the KDFL Division One title.

Promotion to the premier division is a huge achievement for manager Ayad Sarraf and the squad, who have endured a long and hard season in what was a very competitive league.

The whites entered the KDFL in 2003 in its inaugural season, and were given a place in Division Two, out of six leagues. The first season under self styled FDFC Guv Christof Niklaus saw them promoted instantly in 2nd place to Division One.

Season 2004/05 saw the whites achieve a credible 3rd place, the following season saw the whites lose their winning momentum, Christof departed before Christmas 2006 and current manager Ayad Sarraf took over, backed up by an assistance in Leo Mansell, however they together could not reverse the poor form and Fulham were relegated back to Division Two.

Season 2006/07 saw the whites regroup and achieve 3rd place, thus winning promotion back to Division One for the 2007/08 season.
