FDFC Presentation 2010
On Saturday 26th June, all of FDFC gathered to celebrate another fine season at the SW6 Bar Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham FC.
The awards were introduced and presented by the respective managers of each squad with the biggest cheer of the night going to the mens squad, who brought back the British Deaf Cup, winning it for the third time in seven years having beaten Doncaster DFC in at Goodison Park, home of Everton DFC.
At the end of the presentation Fulham DFC Ladies Legend Esther Maycock sadly announced that she was hanging up her boots, calling time on an amazing football journey that saw her start of with Chelsea FC Ladies, and enjoy many highs and lows with the GB and England Deaf squads in both football and futsal.
The ladies will sorely miss Esther, who was the driving force behind the formulation of the squad, her experience, drive and talent played an immense part in all the successes the squad has enjoyed. Esther wished the squad and club well and said she would be back to help Fulham DFC in another capacity once she has recovered from her second ACL knee operation.
Once all the awards were given out, everyone sat down to enjoy the entertaining World Cup quarter final between Ghana and USA, which Ghana won 2-1.
Many thanks for Bassim Baz for organising the night and Rebecca Dance and the Fulham Football Foundation for organising the trophies, and a special thanks to Richard Weinbaum for the photos.
